The outdoor economy is a huge economic driver in Pennsylvania, accounting for over $28 billion in economic impact per year and supporting over 246,000 jobs. It includes all aspects of outdoor recreation from visitors spending on biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing, or camping, to retail sales, services, and manufacturing.

Part 1: June 22

During the first session Eastwick Solutions will provide an understanding of the breadth and depth of the outdoor economy in our state, how the state is supporting the outdoor economy and how it can benefit your community. Leveraging the outdoor economy can help your downtown, assist in business and employee retention and recruitment as well as provide health benefits to residents.

Part 2: June 29

This second session will focus on specific tools and techniques so that your town can benefit from the booming outdoor economy and leverage nearby outdoor recreation assets like biking and hiking trails, rivers, parks, and ski slopes. Learn what role your town can play in helping local businesses attract more visitors, attracting new businesses, becoming more trail-user friendly, improving your outdoor recreation infrastructure and the resources available to you. Find out the lessons learned from other towns across Pennsylvania that have undertaken revitalization based on outdoor recreation and some initial steps that your town can take.
