SUMMARY:StoryWalk Sunday—October
DESCRIPTION:The story posted on the StoryWalk® trail at Pine Hill Park changes regularly\, and a special story event accompanies each one on the second Sunday of select months. \n\n\n\nThe book for October is held over from last month as we continue to celebrate and enjoy the magic of autumn—”Pick a Circle\, Gather Squares: A Fall Harvest of Shapes” by Felicia Sanzari Chernesky (Author)\, Susan Swan (Illustrator). \n\n\n\nKids will join a guided walk along the story trail as they read the book\, then make a special craft project to take home. \n\n\n\nTo mark the changing season\, this book celebrates the wonderful visual delights―not just colors\, but shapes—of fall. This clever book follows a family on a trip to a pumpkin patch and invites children to pick out shapes from the seasonal scenery―apple bushel circles\, square hay bales\, diamond kites in the autumn sky! \n\n\n\nChildren love the sweet verses\, which are enhanced and complemented by gorgeous\, colorful\, collage-inspired art. \n\n\n\nRegister HERE.

SUMMARY:Nature Journaling Camp
DESCRIPTION:During this 3-day camp\, students will get in touch with nature through observation\, recording what they see with writing and drawing\, and learning about the science of what’s happening in nature while immersing themselves in the beauty of the natural world. \n\n\n\nThrough observation\, awareness and attention to detail\, students explore such things as animal tracks\, seed pods\, insects\, wildlife\, weather and all kinds of plant life. By committing observations to paper\, campers deepen their connection to nature. Journaling also captures the essence of the moment—the scent of pine\, the crunch of earth underfoot\, and the fresh air against your skin. \n\n\n\nEach camper should bring a journal—a small notebook with blank paper works fine. Students are encouraged to personalize their journal with cover decorations and their name. \n\n\n\nRegister HERE.
