This tour, which is geared toward upper elementary through high school students, will immerse participants in Jean Craighead George’s 1962 novel Summer of the Falcon which is set at Craighead House. Participants will have the opportunity to see the inside of the house and walk the grounds while hearing excerpts from the novel.
Twig George, an author in her own right, and daughter of famous children’s author and naturalist Jean Craighead George, will give a talk and tell stories from Jean’s notes and diaries about spending summers at Craighead House as well as back stories for some of Jean’s books, as well as her own.
The Twilight Garden: Nightfall brings a new dimension to the garden. Join us as Master Gardener, Susan Janton, presents a unique perspective on gardens that can “glow after dark” with heavenly fragrances and moonlight sparkle, as well as insight on the hidden creatures and night pollinators that emerge at night to start their “day”!
