Chesapeake Bay Foundation Volunteer Event: Buffer Maintenance
May 3 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join CBF for forested riparian buffer maintenance on a recently established buffer. Riparian buffers—trees, shrubs, or other vegetation along a stream or waterway—are an important tool to improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem and local waterways, and routine maintenance is critical to their success.
We will discuss the importance of the maintenance work we’re doing—from weeding the buffer to replanting trees that have been damaged. You’ll learn about the role trees play in mitigating harmful environmental conditions and improving water quality, all while enjoying a hands-on volunteering opportunity.
Address will be provided after registration.
