Keystone Trails Association Webinar: The Underground Railroad Along the Mason-Dixon Line

June 16 @ 6:00 pm 7:00 pm

Long before the Civil War, a quiet resistance was taking shape. In the decades following the Revolutionary War, a bold network of freedom seekers, conductors, and allies began forging what would become America’s first civil rights movement — the Underground Railroad.

Join Randy Harris, Research & Community Outreach specialist at The Stevens & Smith Center at LancasterHistory, as he traces the origins and reach of this remarkable movement through the region of Philadelphia and the farming communities of the counties stretching westward along the Mason-Dixon Line. This boundary, once drawn to settle a border dispute, became one of the most charged dividing lines in American history, separating bondage from freedom and risk from refuge.
