Slag and Water Walking Tour

Join local historian Andre Weltman to see the furnace “head race” and “slag heap,” a man-made mountain of waste products from smelting iron. Meet at the Old Stone Furnace Stack for an introductory presentation on these topics, then walk ½ mile on very uneven terrain, moderate slopes and a little mud — wear proper footwear. Please allow 2 hours for this program. You are free to leave whenever you would like.
