Walking Tour of the Carlisle Indian School Grounds
July 15 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Kate Theimer, Project Partner at the Carlisle Indian School Digital Resource Center & Guest Curator of the CCHS exhibit “Contrasting Photos,” leads a rare walking tour of the buildings & locations that were part of the Carlisle Indian School — now the site of the U.S. Army War College on the Carlisle Barracks. Included are an overview of the school’s history & detailed discussion of how the former buildings were used by students & staff. Tour concludes with a visit to the cemetery for those who wish to see it.
**For Those with Difficulty Walking** On this walking tour, distances covered are not extensive but opportunities to sit are limited.
