Wildlife and Our Woodlands
June 13 @ 4:15 pm – 5:30 pm
This event is free and open to the public and features a presentation by a local Pennsylvania Game Commission Warden, who will discuss how to manage and care for our woodlands to benefit wildlife. This event will be an opportunity to learn, share information and stories, and further our understanding about how to create and enhance wildlife habitats through forest stewardship best practices. Learn and discuss how to create and enhance wildlife habitat through techniques such as prescribed archery burns, managing tree snags, and other methods. Ask questions and discuss with other woodland enthusiasts your experiences with wildlife in your woodland. At the end of the presentation, SAWN-PA Board members will be available to discuss the mission and goals of SAWN-PA and how to become a member!
Register for this event on the SAWN-PA Website: Home | SAWN-PA
Also of interest, Cathryn (Cat) Pugh, Forestry Extension Educator with Penn State Extension, will be conducting two workshops, “Plants in the Park: Plant Identification Walk” both before and after our event. This provides the opportunity for you to participate in one of Cat’s workshops and take part in our event either before or after her workshop! The first workshop will run from 2:30 – 4pm and the second one from 6 – 7:30pm. For more information on Cat’s workshop, and to register, visit Plants in the Park: Plant Identification Walk.
