This second video in the series describes the lives and work of Pennsylvania Conservation Pioneers who are included on the marquee display at the Forest Heritage Discovery Center in Caledonia State Park.

These pioneers include:

– Dr. Joseph Rothrock, the father of forestry in Pennsylvania
– Mira Lloyd Dock, a leader in city beautification and first woman member of the Forestry Commission
– Gifford Pinchot, the first head of the U.S. Forest service and twice governor of Pennsylvania
– Maurice Goddard, a pioneering forestry educator and leader in creating many of Pennsylvania’s state parks

The Forest Heritage Discovery Center is normally open for visitation in the summer months. For days and hours of operation, visit the PA Forestry Association website or Facebook page.
